Kashmiri pacer Samiullah Dar joins England camp as net bowler for ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 - Reports

England will play Sri Lanka in their next game in Bengaluru on October 26.

Samiullah Dar, a talented fast bowler from Kashmir, has been reportedly called in as a net bowler by England team for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 tournament. England have not had a good start to their World Cup tournament and also recently lost pacer Reece Topley to finger injury.

England pacer Reece Topley got recently ruled out of the remainder of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 after he suffered a fracture to his index finger on the left hand. This happened when he tried to stop a ball on his follow-through. He had to leave the field and bowled 8.5 overs as England lost to South Africa in Mumbai.

Though Brydon Carse has been named the replacement for Topley, reports have suggested that England camp have called up a talented fast bowler, Samiullah Dar, who hails from Kashmir.

As per the Tehelka website, Dar hails from Srinagar, and his journey with English team began in Delhi, where he practiced with the squad before traveling with them to Mumbai. His next destination is Bangalore, where the team is set to participate in their upcoming match.

England will look to bounce back in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

South Africa had posted a mammoth 399/7 in 50 overs, with Henrich Klaasen scoring a century and Marco Jansen making 75*, adding more than 150 runs for the seventh wicket. In response, England was reduced to 100/8 before Mark Wood scored 43* to boost England’s score to 170. Still, England lost to South Africa by 229 runs, being their biggest-ever loss in World Cup history.

England now have 2 points from 4 matches and are placed 9th in the CWC 2023 points table. England next plays Sri Lanka in Bengaluru on October 26. And then we will face the undefeated Indian team in Lucknow on Sunday, October 29.
