Kedar Jadhav feels India should not play against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025.

Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav has urged Indian Cricket Team to boycott their clash against Pakistan Cricket Team in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. The clash between the arch-rivals is scheduled to take place on September 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

India and Pakistan are part of Group A in Asia Cup 2025, alongside UAE and Oman. They are also expected to face each other in three games in the tournament if they reach the final.

Notably, the India-Pakistan relations have been affected after the Pahalgam terror attack in April. A Pakistan-based terrorist outfit killed 26 tourists in the Pahalgam region of Jammu & Kashmir in April. Later, Indian Armed Forces conducted Operation Sindoor in May to attack the perpetrators of the terror attack in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

However, this escalated military tensions between both countries in the north-western border regions. Ever since the Pahalgam terror attack happened, there has been a public demand by Indian fans to end all cricketing ties with Pakistan.

When Asia Cup 2025 schedule was announced, many fans slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on social media over India vs Pakistan clash.

I don’t think Indian team should play: Kedar Jadhav

Speaking to ANI, former Indian cricketer Jadhav said that India should not play against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025.

“I don’t think the Indian team should play. I also believe India won’t play. Wherever India face them (Pakistan), they will win anyway. But this match should definitely not go ahead. I can say with confidence that it won’t happen,” Jadhav said.

Notably, some former cricketers have also urged BCCI to boycott the clash against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025. Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh said that India should not play cricket with Pakistan when their soldiers are sacrificing their lives at the border. However, former BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly iterated that India should play if the government gives them permission.

Last month, Yuvraj Singh-led India Champions refused to play against Pakistan Champions in World Championshiop of Legends (WCL) 2025 – a tournament of former international cricketers. Indian cricketers like Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and Suresh Raina refused to play against Pakistan in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Asia Cup 2025 will commence on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). India will play their opening game against UAE on September 10 in Dubai.
