Keshav Maharaj achieves massive feat; Becomes first ever South African spinner to take 200 test wickets

Keshav Maharaj removed Zimbabwe skipper Craig Ervine to pick his 200th test wicket.
South Africa Cricket Team bowler Keshav Maharaj has achieved a massive feat for his team in the history of the longest format of the game. He became the first-ever Proteas spinner to take 200 wickets in the tests.
Keshav Maharaj achieved the feat in the ongoing first test against the Zimbabwe Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The game has seen a magnificent brand of cricket from the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 Champions.
Keshav Maharaj, who is leading South Africa in the absence of Temba Bavuma, is making sure that he leads from the front. The left-arm spinner, apart from his bowling, has shown incredible captaincy as well, making brilliant bowling changes and field placements.
Keshav Maharaj, who is one of the finest spinners in world cricket, got to the 200-wicket landmark after he removed Zimbabwe skipper Craig Ervine for 36 runs. The left-arm spinner got the batter stumped and entered his name in the record books.

Coming to the match, South Africa are in complete control of the game. After winning the toss and opting to bat, they piled up a massive total of 418 runs. Lhuan-dré Pretorius (153) hit a blistering ton on debut while Corbin Bosch (100*) also slammed his maiden ton. Also, Dewald Brevis (51) hit a fifty on debut.
With the ball, South Africa has been decent too. They have picked wickets at regular intervals and have put pressure on the opposition. For the hosts, Sean Williams has slammed a magnificent century, but they are behind in the game by a massive margin.
