KKR replacement player Jason Roy pulls up muscle while saving boundary vs CSK; Taken off field

Another setback for Kolkata Knight Riders as Jason Roy, who joined the team recently as replacement, picks up an injury.
Already hit by few injuries and players opting out from the season, Kolkata Knight Riders suffer another injury setback. In the 19th over against Chennai Super Kings at Eden Gardens, Opening batter Jason Roy had to leave the field due to an injury scare. Roy, while saving a boundary pulled his muscles and had to leave the field in frustration. Roy was brought in as a replacement player this season. Roy was brought in place of Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Before the season, Pat Cummins and Shakib al Hasan opted out and KKR Captain Shreyas Iyer was ruled out from the entire season due to a persistent lower back injury.
In the first ball of the 19th over, Roy was attempting a save on Ravindra Jadeja’s shot while fielding at deep mid-wicket. Jadeja tried to fetch a boundary off Varun Chakravarthy’s full ball, Roy, fielding at mid-wicket did stop the ball from touching the rope, yet he pulled up his quad muscles and then in frustration, he left the field with the physio. Suni Narine and N Jagadeeshan are opening the batting for KKR.
