KKR unveil new jersey for IPL 2026: Watch the 'Lines of Legacy' theme

KKR will face MI on March 29 at Wankhede Stadium.

We are just a couple of weeks away from the start of the Indian Premier League 2026. Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the previous edition and will put their title on the line. On the other hand, Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders won the 2024 title but did not perform well last season.

Under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, KKR finished the last season in 8th place. As a result, the franchise made some necessary changes to their squad and made some lucrative deals at the IPL 2026 auction.

On Saturday, the franchise also revealed their new kit for the upcoming season. New Jersey saw the return of shiny gold stripes on the shoulders. The design is made on the theme of Lines of Legacy.

Kolkata Knight Riders launch new jersey

The three-time champions will be playing their first game of the IPL 2026 on March 29. They will face five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, while KKR’s first home match will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens on April 2.

The design for the new kit follows the theme of Lines of Legacy. This design mainly focuses on the memorable moments featuring KKR in their IPL journey from the very first edition.

This includes the blistering century by Brendon McCullum in the very first IPL match and the 5 consecutive sixes hit by Rinku Singh against the Gujarat Titans in the final over. The 3-time winners have produced many unbelievable moments over the years.

Each line in the new kit tells the story of KKR’s celebrated IPL journey. Especially where these lines intersect, the initials “KKR” (Kolkata Knight Riders) are formed. Hence, the fans will have a chance to wear this jersey to feel and relive the team’s IPL journey.

KKR CEO, Venky Mysore, said during the jersey launch event, “The Lines of Legacy captures the essence of KKR’s storied history and celebrates the journey of the team over the years. Each line represents a pivotal moment of brilliance, reflecting the energy and spirit that weaves together to form our identity. We are proud of this legacy that we have built and want to carry it into the upcoming season while creating more memories for our fans to cherish.”

The pre-tournament training camp for KKR will begin on March 18 in Kolkata. As a result, all players are expected to arrive at the camp a day early. Domestic stars like Ramandeep Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and others are expected to join a day prior.

Meanwhile, the T20 World Cup 2026-winning Indian stars Varun Chakravarthy and Rinku Singh are expected to arrive 1-2 days later.

Notably, KKR have signed Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani to replace Mustafizur Rahman and are also looking for a replacement for Harshit Rana, who has been ruled out of the IPL 2026.
