KL Rahul to join the Indian team for the Super Four of Asia Cup 2023.

Team India qualified for the Super Four of Asia Cup 2023 after beating Nepal by ten wickets in their second group match on Monday. Now, they will face the top three teams from the tournament in the next round. The Indian batting, led by Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, helped the team chase down the revised target of 147 runs in 20.1 overs. They moved on to the next round.

With that, the team will be joined by KL Rahul, who has cleared all the fitness tests and will be part of the team during the Super Four stage. Rahul suffered an injury during the Indian Premier League 2023 and underwent surgery. He was completing his rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

KL Rahul posted a special post, thanking NCA staff for helping him ahead of Asia Cup Super Four stage

It has come as a big relief for the Indian management, as KL Rahul is a key player in the Indian lineup and a strong middle-order batter. He also keeps wickets, which is another factor that India need at the moment. Notably, Rahul was initially named in the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023, but he wasn't completely fit and missed the first two games.

However, he has now cleared the fitness test and will soon join the team. Before joining the team, KL Rahul posted a special post and thanked NCA staff for helping him clear the test. He wrote on social media, "Reflecting on my journey in the last few months, which has been filled with challenges and lessons. The road has been humbling. A big shoutout to Nitin sir,Yogesh sir, Rajini sir, Dhananjay Bhai, Shalini and everyone at the NCA for your efforts and commitment towards getting me back on the ground."

He also thanked the team at Wellington Hospital, where he underwent the surgery under the supervision of Dr. Rahul Patel. Team India will play their next game against Pakistan on September 10 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, which will be another big match for the team. However, Rahul's return will create a headache, as Ishan Kishan has also performed pretty well.
