India’s innings didn’t have a great start as Yashasvi Jaiswal got out early. But it was Rahul who provided solidity to the Indian innings. The opening batter displayed a high-class exhibition of batting brilliance as he played some gorgeous shots in his innings and put England under pressure.
KL Rahul first hit a solid fifty under tough circumstances. When the ball was nipping and moving, he looked great as he negotiated that tricky phase. After that, he made sure that he converted it into a ton and took India to a great position.
Rahul brought his ton off 176 balls, and this was his 10th test ton. The opening batter, along with Rishabh Pant (74), brought his team back in the game after they were under pressure. However, just after his ton, he got out and ended with the innings of 100 runs off 177 balls.
