Bishnoi has joined the squad as a replacement for the injured Washington Sundar. After missing the first two games, he was named in the third T20I where he captured two wickets while leaking just 18 runs in his four-over spell.

He dismissed two key batters Glenn Phillips and Mark Chapman, crushing New Zealand’s middle-order. With his consistent performances since his debut, he has always proved his value in the shortest format. His quick action and googlies help to dominate the opposition batters.

Kuldeep or Bishnoi! Who should India prefer?

Notably, India have already won the series and now need to focus on preparing for ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Since Kuldeep is part of India’s squad for the tournament, he should be preferred in the playing XI for the next two encounters.

The senior Indian spinner needs maximum opportunities to pull up his socks ahead of the multi-nation tournament, where he would play a crucial role in the spin department. Since Bishnoi is not part of the squad, resting him will not hamper the team’s preparations.

Moreover, India should also bring back Varun Chakravarthy instead of Bishnoi in the upcoming two clashes, as he is scheduled to play in the World Cup.
