The ongoing West Indies tour has been a brilliant outing for Kuldeep Yadav. He has been among the wickets in every game he played on the tour. Kuldeep Yadav, with his magnificent spell against West Indies in the third T20I has broken Yuzvendra Chahal‘s record.
Kuldeep Yadav with his double-wicket over has become the fastest bowler to reach 50 wickets in T20 Internationals for Team India overtaking leg-spinner Chahal. Kuldeep in his final over picked up Nicolas Pooran and Brandon King to provide India crucial breakthroughs.
Kuldeep overtakes Chahal
Kuldeep has completed 50 T20I wickets in just 29 innings, while Chahal completed his 50 T20I wickets in 34 innings for Team India. Kuldeep is 5 innings quicker than Chahal. In overall numbers, Dhruvkumar Maisuria of Botswana completed 50 T20I wickets quicker than everyone else. Leg-spinner Dhruv from Botswana took only 22 innings to complete 50 T20I wickets in his career. Among the test playing members, Sri Lankan Ajantha Mendis is the fastest to complete 50 T20I wickets in just 26 innings.

Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3 wickets in 4 overs in the third T20I to give team India a chance to restrict West Indies to a modest total. Brandon King became Kuldeep Yadav’s 50th T20I wicket. Kuldeep got Mayers (25) out caught by Arshdeep Singh, Nicolas Pooran (20) out stumped by Sanju Samson, and Brandon King (42) caught and bowled in his spell. He conceded only 28 runs. Kuldeep Yadav made his T20I debut against West Indies in 2017.
West Indies have once again performed better as a batting unit and posted a challenging total of 159 runs on the board. Providence wicket is on the slower side and the target of 160 set by West Indies will be a challenging task in front of a struggling Indian batting lineup. Brandon King and captain Rovman Powell played magnificent innings to help Windies cross the 150 mark. Powell in the end smashed 40 runs in 19 balls with a four and 3 towering sixes.
