Jasprit Bumrah has taken 12 wickets in the ENG vs IND series.
Former India head coach Anil Kumble wants Indian Cricket Team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah to play both the remaining games of the ongoing test series against England Cricket Team. He said that there is no need for the pacer to play the home series, but he should give his all in the ongoing series.
Jasprit Bumrah is slated to play only one more game in the ongoing series against England. It was decided ahead of the series that the fast bowler would play just three games to manage his workload and avoid any further injury, especially with big tournaments around the corner.
This could cost India big time as the series is on the line. The Shubman Gill-led side is 1-2 down in the series, and this makes both the remaining games extremely important. There is also no clarity on whether the pacer will be there for the next game, which will begin on 23rd July at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Indian assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate was asked about Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the next game. However, he didn’t shy away from saying that they will take the call after they assess things. Speaking to reporters, he said:
“We’ll make that call in Manchester. We know we have him for one of the last two Tests, and with the series on the line, Manchester is likely. But we’re looking at the big picture,” Ryan explained.
“We’ll consider the weather, the number of days we might get, and how that affects the match at The Oval,” he added.
He must feature in both – Anil Kumble on Jasprit Bumrah

However, Anil Kumble isn’t in favour of resting Jasprit Bumrah for either of the games. He said that the pacer needs to be there for the Manchester test and the Oval test as after the series there is a long break. Speaking on JioHotstar, he said:
“I would certainly push for Bumrah to play the next game because that’s crucial. If he doesn’t and India end up losing, the series would be done and dusted,” Kumble said on JioHotstar’s Follow the Blues show.
“There is a long break after this. He doesn’t need to play the home series if rest is needed—but right now, he must feature in both.”
