Marnus Labuschagne hilariously sledged the Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi on fourth day of the MCG test.

During Day 4 of the AUS vs PAK second Test, Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne was seen sledging Pakistani pacer, Shaheen Afridi. Pakistan needed 317 runs to win against a potent Australian pace attack, but they fell short by 79 runs.

The Pakistani squad was 7 down for 236 runs, and Agha Salman, along with Shaheen Shah Afridi, was Pakistan’s last chance at the crease. Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne, who was defending at short leg during the fourth ball of Pakistan’s 66th over, stepped up and chatted with Shaheen. While slamming Pakistan’s top pacer, he highlighted the IPL and PSL.

“80 runs in 6 overs…very doable….It’s for Shaheen..I’ve seen him play IPL…Ugh…PSL..Can he..?” Labuschagne was heard saying.

The insult appeared to have worked for Australia, as Shaheen Shah Afridi fell to Australian skipper Pat Cummins and was caught by Marnus Labuschagne for a duck in the next over.

Pakistan’s winless run continues in Australia in Test cricket

Pat Cummins shone with the ball for Australia, taking his second five-wicket haul in the second Test. Cummins finished the second innings with figures of 5/49 in 18 overs, after picking up a fifer in the first innings and giving up 48 runs in 20 overs.

It was another disappointing batting performance for the Pakistani team, as no batter was able to rise to the occasion and anchor a win for Pakistan. Imam ul-Haq and Babar Azam were both out for 12 and 41 runs in the second innings, respectively.

With the win, Australia also sealed the Test series and now have an unassailable lead of 2-0 with one Test to play. Pakistan’s dream of winning a Test series in Australia is once again a dream and now they will want to end the series on a winning note.

The third Test match of the series will be played from January 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground and the Australian team will want to whitewash Pakistan. This will also be the farewell Test for David Warner, who will retire from the format in front of his home crowd in Sydney.
