Lanka Premier League 2023 schedule announced

Fourth season of Lanka Premier League to see a total of 24 matches from 30th July to 20th August, 2023.

Sri Lankan Cricket Board has announced the schedule for Lanka Premier League season four. LPL season 4 will begin on 30th July and the Final will be held on 20th August at R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. Five teams will be taking part in the League. Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Aura, B-love Kandy, and Galle Titans are the five teams taking part in the league. They will face each other twice in a round-robin format. 

Colombo and Kandy picked as hosts for Lanka Premier League 2023

The tournament will begin with defending champions Jaffna Kings taking on Colombo Strikers at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. LPL season 4 will be played in two Sri Lankan cities, Colombo and Kandy. Kandy will host 8 games from the 4th of August to the 8th of August. LPL’s playoff round will be hosted in Colombo on the 17th and 19th of August. A reserve day has been kept in case of rain during the final game. 

So far, Jaffna Kings have won all three editions of the Lanka Premier League. Jaffna defeated Colombo Strikers in the LPL 2022 edition. For the first time in LPL’s history, Auction was held on 14th June. Pacer Dilshan Madhushanka became the highest-auctioned player in the Lanka Premier League history. Jaffna Kings bought Madhushanka for 92,000$ price.
