Left-arm spinner Noman Ali is out of the Boxing day test at MCG due to acute appendicitis.

With just three days left for the Boxing Day test against Australia at MCG in Melbourne, Pakistan cricket team suffered a major setback. Left-arm spinner Noman Ali is ruled out for the remainder of the test series and has been hospitalised due to acute abdominal pain. Noman Ali complained about the pain and the early scans have detected acute appendicitis.

Pakisan’s injury list is growing bigger as initially they decided to replace Noman Ali with Abrar Ahmed but Abrar is also sidelined due to an injury. Now, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked Sajid Khan to join the squad for the rest of the two test matches. Off-spinner Sajid Khan has joined the camp after a long travel from Pakistan.

PCB updates about Noman Ali

Pakistan in an official press release informed, “Noman Ali complained of sudden and severe abdominal pain yesterday, leading to examinations and scans in emergency that confirmed a diagnosis of acute appendicitis.” PCB also informed that the left-arm spinner underwent Laparoscopic Appendectomy today on Surgeon’s advice.

The 37-year-old left-arm spinner Noman Ali is doing fine and he is stable after the treatment. Despite the treatment, Noman Ali will not be taking further part in the series. Pakistan lost the first test against Australia in Perth. They will be playing the second game of the series on Boxing Day at MCG and the final match of the series will be played at SCG.

Right-arm medium pacer Khurram Shahzad was also ruled out of Pakistan squad after the first test match. Shahzad picked up 5 wickets in his test debut at Optus Stadium but also suffered a fracture in his ribs along with an abdominal muscle tear. Noman Ali’s replacement Sajid Khan has played 7 test matches for Pakistan and has picked up 22 wickets.
