List of countries who will participate in Cricket at Asian Games 2023

Indian cricket team will be participating in upcoming Asian Games 2023.

One of the most watched sporting events at the future Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in 2023 will be cricket. Asian Games 2023 will include up to 14 men's cricket teams, and 8 women's cricket teams will fight for the coveted gold medal.

These 14 teams will compete in a total of 17 matches to compete for the gold medal in the men's cricket competition at the Asian Games 2023 from September 28 to October 7.

Hosts China, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mongolia, Japan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Maldives, Hong Kong, and Thailand are the 14 participating nations in the men's cricket event at the Asian Games 2023.

India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have already advanced to the quarter-finals, where they will compete against four additional first-round teams. The teams are seeded based on ICC T20I Ranking as of 1st June 2023.

Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Japan had won gold, silver, and bronze medals at Inchoen, whereas Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan had won the men's competition. The three women's medals at Incheon were won by Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, while the three men's medals went to Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

Women’s participating teams in Asian Games 2023

On the other hand, 8 women’s cricket teams will play 11 matches in the 19th edition of the Asian Games from September 19 to September 28.

China, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Mongolia, Hong Kong, and Malaysia are the 9 women’s teams that will compete for the gold medal at Hangzhou 2023.

India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have directly qualified for the quarter-finals as the four top teams in the ICC women’s T20I rankings. The remaining 10 teams will fight for the other four quarter-final berths.

The teams have been seeded on the basis of their ICC T20I rankings as of June 1, 2023. All the matches will be played at the Zhejiang University of Technology Cricket Field in Hangzhou.
