List of all injury replacements in IPL 2026

A few players have been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injuries.

The stage for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is all set, and all 10 teams are pulling their socks up to lift the title. IPL 2026 will start on March 28 with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the tournament opener.

In the mini-auction conducted in December last year, a few teams bagged big names to strengthen their bowling and batting units. However, a few players are suffering from injuries and have been ruled out of the tournament. Moreover, many players are set to miss opening games or the entire initial phase due to various injuries.

A few teams have also reportedly announced replacements for their injured players. Some other franchises are busy finding potential replacements. On that note, below are all the replacements for injured players in IPL 2026.

All injury replacements for IPL 2026-

1. Dasun Shanaka replaces Sam Curran at RR

Sam Curran became a part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of IPL 2026 in a trade deal. RR traded out Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and inducted Ravindra Jadeja and Curran as replacements.

However, the England all-rounder has been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to a groin injury, which he suffered in the T20 World Cup 2026. Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka, as per Cricbuzz, has replaced him in the RR squad.

2. Spencer Johnson replaces Nathan Ellis at CSK

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered a big blow ahead of IPL 2026 as their pacer Nathan Ellis has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.

As per reports, Spencer Johnson has been signed by the franchise as a replacement. The left-arm pacer was released by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of IPL 2026 mini-auction, where he went unsold at his base price of INR 1.50 crore.

3. Saurabh Dubey replaces Akash Deep at KKR

KKR’s injury woes in this IPL have been worse. Their two key pacers, Harshit Rana and Akash Deep, were ruled out of the tournament due to injuries, while there is no clarity on Matheesha Pathirana.

However, they tried to fill that gap and added Vidarbha left-arm seamer Saurabh Dubey as Deep’s replacement for IPL 2026.

4. David Payne replaces Jack Edwards at SRH

SRH have named England pacer David Payne as the replacement for Jack Edwards in IPL 2026. So far, the left-arm pacer has played one ODI for England against the Netherlands in June 2022. Payne will make his debut in the upcoming season.

Who has replaced Sam Curran in RR’s squad in IPL 2026?

Dasun Shanaka has joined RR as a replacement for Sam Curran.

When will IPL 2026 start?
