List of all players who withdrew from PSL 2026

The PSL 2026 is set to begin on 26 March, with the final on 3 May.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL 2026) has found itself in a lot of dilemmas due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia between Israel & the US, and Iran. The tournament is once again clashing with the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) and is slated to begin on March 26.
However, the ongoing West Asia crisis has led to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) taking some drastic steps. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, on March 22, 2026, announced that the upcoming PSL 2026 will be played behind closed doors, without the crowd. The tournament will also drop the idea of matches happening in six cities, and now only Lahore and Karachi will host the entire tournament.
Mohsin Naqvi featured in a press conference and stated that PSL 2026 opening ceremony in Lahore has been cancelled. He also added that PCB will compensate the franchise owners for the revenue loss caused by PSL 2026 being played without crowds. The fans who have already bought the tickets will also be refunded the amount, as per the PCB chief.
“We will take action” – PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi warns players opting to ditch PSL for IPL

Mohsin Naqvi also addressed a burning issue that has been haunting the PSL 2026 and its franchises. Several foreign players have decided to withdraw from the PSL tournament, citing personal reasons, and many of those players have signed up for the rival IPL 2026 as injury replacements.
After getting called up by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman, Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani has already withdrawn from the PSL. Now Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka has also confirmed his departure from the PSL.
Gudakesh Motie, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Ottneil Baartman, and Spencer Johnson are among those who have withdrawn, while the majority have given personal explanations.
Mohsin Naqvi warned the foreign players withdrawing from the PSL of legal action. He reminded them of South Africa’s Corbin Bosch, who ditched PSL to play for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 and was banned for one year from PSL.
Furthermore, he stated that players leaving PSL for IPL is not the issue if they inform the management beforehand. Naqvi stated that a clash between PSL and IPL is a must as PCB hasn’t found any other window to conduct the PSL without competition.
Meanwhile, there are many more withdrawals on cards as IPL franchises deal with many injury-related issues and look for talent elsewhere.
