Litton Das and Tamim Iqbal to miss the final ODI against New Zealand

Both openers, Litton Das and Tamim Iqbal made their comeback against New Zealand in 3-match ODI series.
Bangladesh stand-in captain Litton Das and opener Tamim Iqbal have asked for the rest of the final ODI against New Zealand. Bangladesh lost the second ODI played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. Litton Das is leading Bangladesh squad against New Zealand in the ongoing 3-match ODI series in Shakib Al Hasan’s absence. Litton Das missed out on group games of Asia Cup 2023 and Tamim Iqbal missed the whole of Asia Cup 2023.
With just one game remaining in the series, Litton Das has again complained that he is not feeling well and wants to remain fresh for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. Opener Tamim Iqbal also complained about a little discomfort, and as a precaution, he has asked to skip the final ODI against New Zealand. Both made their comebacks in the ongoing New Zealand series only. Tamim Iqbal played a 44-runs knock in the 2nd ODI.
Bangladesh yet to decide on captain
With Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, and Tamim Iqbal all missing the final ODI action at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday, Bangladesh will be looking to pick a new captain for the final ODI game. They have not taken any calls regarding that and will soon decide on the name that will lead Bangladeshi squad on September 26th. Tamim Iqbal had some problems with his spine, while Litton Das suffered from dengue.
Bangladesh Chief Selector Habibul Bashar informed us that the medical team will be assessing both Litton and Tamim on Sunday. Bashar said, “Litton will be rested for the third and final ODI against New Zealand... I needed some rest before the World Cup. Tamim, on the other hand, felt some discomfort in his back and asked for rest. The medical team will assess his condition and decide.” Tamim had to give up the captaincy of the white-ball format due to his injury.
New Zealand defeated Bangladesh in the second ODI by 86 runs. Ish Sodhi bowled a magical spell and picked up six wickets in the game. Sodhi also contributed 35 runs to Kiwi team's score with three towering sixes as well. Batting first, New Zealand scored 254 runs. Chasing the total, Bangladeshi batters never looked comfortable against Ish Sodhi, and they were bundled out on 168 runs. The first ODI between the two was a rain washout.
