The IND vs PAK clash in ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will take place on February 15.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) removed the Bangladesh Cricket Team from T20 World Cup 2026 over their demand to relocate their matches to Sri Lanka. The BCB refused to send their players to India over security issues; however, ICC eventually denied their request and replaced them with Scotland in Group C.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who supported Bangladesh’s request for relocation and termed ICC’s move against them unjustified, are contemplating the same move. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has stated that they will have a discussion with the Pakistan government over the matter and take a final call.

Notably, PCB called out ICC for having double standards as they accepted India’s demands to shift their games to Dubai from Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy last year. However, they denied Bangladesh’s similar demand in the forthcoming 20-nation tournament.

Although Pakistan’s boycott of the entire tournament is less likely, several reports in their local media have stated that they might skip the clash against the Indian Cricket Team as a mark of protest. The arch-rivals are placed in Group A in the tournament, with the India vs Pakistan clash to take place on February 15 in Colombo.

Considering the historical rivalry between both sides and the cricket fanbase in these countries, it is expected to be the most-watched encounter in the tournament. It also drives a lot of revenue for the broadcasters due to its high viewership. If Pakistan boycott the encounter against India, PCB will incur huge financial losses.

Notably, PCB will suffer a loss of USD 38 million if they boycott clash against India in T20 World Cup as broadcasters might sue them for this huge amount for skipping the encounter against India.

Moreover, some reports have also claimed that if Pakistan boycott the tournament, they will be replaced by Bangladesh by the ICC. In such a scenario, Bangladesh will then be able to play all of their matches in Sri Lanka as the Men-in-Green are scheduled to play all of their games in Colombo.

Meanwhile, both India and Pakistan have announced their squads for T20 World Cup 2026. While Suryakumar Yadav will captain India in the tournament, Salman Ali Agha will lead Pakistan.
