Lucknow Super Giants rope in Bharat Arun as bowling coach ahead of IPL 2026 - Reports

Bharat Arun was the bowling coach of KKR in IPL 2025.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have roped in Bharat Arun as the bowling coach ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. According to reports by Cricbuzz, the former Indian bowling coach has signed a two-year contract with the franchise.
Bharat Arun was the bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) since the IPL 2022 edition. He joined the franchise after his stint with the Indian Cricket Team ended in 2021.
Notably, KKR have also parted ways with their head coach Chandrakant Pandit ahead of the IPL 2026. Both Pandit and Arun helped KKR win the title in the IPL 2024 season. However, the three-time champions gave a dismal performance in IPL 2025.
LSG likely to part ways with mentor Zaheer Khan ahead of IPL 2026

LSG are likely to part ways with Zaheer Khan ahead of the next season. He was appointed as the mentor of the team in IPL 2025. However, LSG are unlikely to offer him another term after their poor show in IPL 2025.
Moreover, head coach Justin Langer might be sacked as well by the franchise ahead of IPL 2026. Under skipper Rishabh Pant, LSG finished in the seventh spot in the points table with 12 points. Out of 14 games, they won six matches and lost eight clashes.
Meanwhile, after parting ways with Pandit and Arun, KKR might undergo a selection process to recruit new coaching staff. Moreover, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar is expected to get a bigger role in IPL 2026.
KKR, under skipper Ajinkya Rahane, failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2025. With 12 points, they finished in the eighth spot in the points table, winning five games and losing seven matches. Two matches ended with no result.
