Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) strongest playing XI for IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants finished seventh in the IPL 2024.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) created history at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction by splurging INR 27 crores on Rishabh Pant. LSG’s acquisition of Pant made him the most expensive player in the IPL history.

After failing to qualify for playoffs last season, LSG parted ways with captain KL Rahul. The franchise entered with a clear intent of reshaping their squad with Pant acting as the nucleus of the lineup.

Lucknow’s major focus lingered around forming an Indian pace attack. LSG signed international Indian seam bowlers Avesh Khan and Akash Deep for INR 9.75 crores and INR 8 crores respectively to strengthen their fast bowling cartel.

LSG also added overseas pace-bowling all-rounder Mitchell Marsh to their squad for a salary of INR 3.4 crores.

The franchise acquired the South African batting duo of Aiden Markram and David Markram for INR 2 crores and INR 7.5 crores respectively. Miller will bring a lot of experience in LSG’s middle-order, while Markram will resolve the void left by KL Rahul’s departure at the top order.

Despite making bold moves in the auction, LSG still have some major holes in their squad. While the franchise have assembled one of the strongest middle orders in the tournament, they still lack seasoned Indian openers in their lineup.

Additionally, the franchise also lacks a frontline spinner to partner Ravi Bishnoi in the middle overs. Despite making a statement signing of Rishabh Pant, the team will rely on inexperienced Indian players Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed.

LSG’s strongest playing XI for IPL 2025:

Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (wk), Nicholas Pooran, David Miller, Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav, Shahbaz Ahmed (Impact)
