Mark Wood suffered right thigh muscle injury during the first test match against Sri Lanka.
England ace speedster Mark Wood is all set to miss the remainder of the test series against Sri Lanka after he suffered right thigh muscle injury on day three of the opening test in Manchester.
Wood experienced pain after bowling his second ball of his 11th over of Sri Lanka’s second innings. The right-arm pacer immediately left the field and didn’t take the field on Day 3 of the first test between the both sides.
Before the start of Day 4, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) put out an official statement regarding Wood’s injury. The statement added that the England medical team would determine the full extent of his injury after the scans.
After winning the opening fixture against Sri Lanka by five wickets, ECB has now confirmed that the fast bowler has been ruled out of the remaining two games against Sri Lanka after scans confirmed a right thigh muscle strain on August 25.
