In 2019, when India were in England for World Cup, a photo featuring MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Agarwal, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya caused quite a stir on the internet. It's a common thing for players to take pictures and share them on Instagram. However, this particular photo had an element of mystery that remained unsolved for nearly four years. Originally posted on Hardik's social media with the caption 'Boys' day out,' the image captured all five cricketers in high spirits. What captured the fans' interest was the hand that casually rested on Pant's shoulder.
The picture quickly gained immense popularity online as people were intrigued by the question, 'Whose hand is on Pant's shoulders?' Dhoni's hands were visible, and Bumrah's left hand was on MSD's shoulders. Nevertheless, the mystery remained, Whose hand was resting on Pant's shoulder?

On September 28, 2023, Agarwal himself finally resolved the mystery by posting on X (formerly Twitter) to put an end to the suspense. "After years of extensive research, debates, and countless conspiracy theories, let the nation finally know: it is my hand on @RishabhPant17 shoulder. Any and all other claims are misleading and not true," Agarwal wrote.
Initially left out of India's 2019 World Cup squad, Agarwal was later drafted in as a replacement for the injured Vijay Shankar.
