Mayank Yadav was retained by Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have received a major boost just days before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season as their fast bowler Mayank Yadav has started bowling.
Mayank has been going through rehabilitation at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence after sustaining an injury ahead of the T20I tour of South Africa in November 2024.
The speedster was retained by the franchise for INR 11 crores before the IPL 2025 mega auction. In four appearances in IPL 2024, Mayank had impressed everyone with his rapid pace, taking seven wickets.
Earlier, there were question marks over the timeline of his return for IPL 2025, as a few reports suggested that the pacer might even miss the first half of the season.
In a recent video shared on Instagram story, the young speedster was seen bowling with a shortened run-up at a light intensity under the supervision of a coach.

According to reports by Sports Tak, Mayank is doing well in the nets and showing match readiness. LSG will be able to link him up with the squad if the pacer receives clearance from the Centre of Excellence.
Mayank is part of LSG’s pace bowling unit, which includes exciting names like Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, Shamar Joseph, Akash Singh, and Prince Yadav.
The 22-year-old Delhi pacer has taken 23 wickets in 17 appearances in T20s at a bowling average of 15.5 and an economy rate of just 6.67.
LSG will face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their first league stage match of IPL 2025 on Monday, March 24, in Visakhapatnam. The franchise will look to rebound from a disappointing IPL 2024 season, where they finished seventh with 14 points in the league stage.
