"Tu mere mahol pe run maange ja": Watch: Virat Kohli's cheeky jibe at Ravindra Jadeja

Virat Kohli slammed his 29th Test ton and added 159 runs for the 5th wicket with Ravindra Jadeja.

As he broke the dry spell of overseas Test centuries, Virat Kohli was the man of the hour on day two of the ongoing second Test between the West Indies and India played in Trinidad.

With India at 288/4 and Ravindra Jadeja joining him, the right-handed hitter resumed play on the second day at 87*. Soon after the team hit 300, Virat Kohli finally made his long-awaited century, which was a great occasion.

Shannon Gabriel's wide full delivery was smashed through the covers for four runs, giving him his 76th international century and 29th Test century. Since December 2018, this was his first test away from home, and you could see the relief on his face.

In his 500th international game, Kohli also made history as the first batsman to record a century, and a run out put an end to his innings. The monkey was off his back, which was more important than the fact that he scored 121 runs in 206 balls with 11 fours.

During the Asia Cup last year against Afghanistan in a T20I, Virat Kohli broke his international century drought that had started in November 2019 and went on to achieve a few ODI centuries as well. His first Test century since 2019 occurred in March in Ahmedabad against Australia.

The overseas Test century drought has now also come to an end.

Virat Kohli takes a cheeky jibe at Ravindra Jadeja

Though it was a day of celebration for Virat Kohli, the contribution of Jadeja cannot be ignored as his support enabled Kohli to help India out of a precarious position of 182/4. Jadeja also completed his half-century just after Kohli hit his 29th Test ton.

Together the duo added 159 runs for the 5th wicket and their partnership ended when Kohli was run-out for 121 runs. Jadeja followed soon after for the score of 61 runs.

However, during their partnership, Kohli was heard making a cheeky jibe at Jadeja, who was seemingly asking for a run.
