Michael Vaughan has picked India as favourites for World Cup 2023.

Hosts have been crowned champions in the previous three editions of the ICC Cricket World Cup. It all started with India when they became champions in 2011, then in 2015 Australia, and in 2019 England won World Cup. India will be hosting the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and they are also considered among the clear favourites to win their third World Cup title. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan makes a bold prediction regarding team India heading into the 2023 World Cup.

Michael Vaughan picks India as favourite but with caution

Former English skipper Michael Vaughan predicted that the team winning against India would be crowned World Cup champions in 2023. He tweeted, “It’s quite clear to me... whoever beats Team India will win the World Cup. India’s batting lineup on Indian pitches is ridiculous. Plus, they have all the bowling options covered. It's only the pressure of the burden that could stop them.” Many cricket fans are feeling that this is a golden opportunity for team India to end their ICC title wait of the last 10 years.

Playing in home conditions the expectations will be huge during the entire tournament. Full-capacity grounds will be waiting for team India in every league game they play. They will travel across 9 different venues to play their league-round games in the tournament. If Indian team manages the home ground pressure well enough then they are the most favourite team to go on and lift the title. Indian team are running in great form before the mega event begins on 5th October in Ahmedabad.

Team India won Asia Cup 2023 after defeating co-host Sri Lanka in the finals. Similarly, they got two big wins against out-of-colour Australians in a 3-match ODI series. One more game remains in the series in Rajkot. Indian batting line-up put up a huge 399 runs total against Australia in Indore, with all of their batters scoring big runs. Indian bowlers exhibited great performances in the recently concluded Asia Cup. India will begin their World Cup campaign against Australia at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on October 8th.
