Mickey Arthur, Andrew Puttick resign from their positions in Pakistan cricket

Pakistan had a vey poor ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has resigned from his position along with Andrew Puttick and Grant Bradburn. Bradburn was the first one to split with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which was followed by Mickey Arthur and Andrew Puttick. They were given the responsibility of Pakistan’s National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
Former South African cricketer, Mickey Arthur joined Pakistan Cricket team in April 2023 as Director of Pakistan national team while Grant Braburn was announced as head coach of Pakistan side. Andrew Puttick joined in as Pakistan’s batting coach in April 2023 but a disappointing World Cup 2023 performance made PCB bring big changes in the support staff as well as in the team.

Pakistan Cricket Board has amicably accepted the resignation of the trio. PCB in a press releases stated, “All three individuals informed the Pakistan Cricket Board of their decision to leave their respective jobs by the end of January 2024. The decision was taken amicably between all the stakeholders. The PCB wishes them well in their future endeavors and is grateful for their services.”
Mickey Arthur was replaced by Mohammad Hafeez as the team director after the World Cup 2023 in India. Former English all-rounder Adam Hollioake is serving as the batting coach, Abdul Majeed is fielding coach, Saeed Ajmal is spin bowling coach while Umar Gul is currently serving as bowling coach. Babar Azam was also replaced as Pakistan captain by Shan Masood in test and Shaheen Afridi in T20Is.
Pakistan recently had a poor run of form and have failed to win an international game after the World Cup 2023 loss. They have had six consecutive losses after the World Cup 2023 exit. Pakistan lost the three-match test series against Australia in Australia by 3-0 margin and also lost the-five match T20I series against New Zealand and are currently trailing by 3-0 score line.
