Mitchell Marsh, Australia’s T20I captain, has revealed his all-time combined ODI XI, which includes players from Australia, India, and England. The star-studded squad blends explosive batting with world-class bowling.
Marsh revealed his choices in a video shared by Fox Cricket on October 7, 2025, while leaving out numerous high-profile players, including Rohit Sharma, Ricky Ponting, and MS Dhoni.
Marsh chose David Warner and Adam Gilchrist from among five alternatives for openers, forming a left-handed opening tandem noted for their aggression and powerplay dominance. Gilchrist also takes over wicketkeeping duties ahead of Dhoni and Jos Buttler.
Marsh positioned Sachin Tendulkar at number three, followed by Virat Kohli, Joe Root, and Michael Bevan in the middle order. This fearsome batting line-up combines flair, consistency, and finishing ability.
Marsh significantly ignored three World Cup-winning captains—Ponting (Australia), Eoin Morgan (England), and Michael Clarke (Australia), while naming Kohli, Root, and Bevan as his ideal middle-order combination.
Marsh chose Andrew Symonds as his all-rounder over Yuvraj Singh, Kapil Dev, Shane Watson, Steve Waugh, Andrew Flintoff, and Ben Stokes. Symonds, noted for his powerful batting and effective off-spin, adds valuable depth at No. 7.
James Anderson and Anil Kumble lead Mitchell Marsh’s all-time bowling attack

Marsh’s bowling lineup combines pace and spin. He chose Anil Kumble, Darren Gough, Jasprit Bumrah, and James Anderson as his four front-line bowlers.
Kumble, India’s most successful ODI wicket-taker, delivers spin control and wicket-taking abilities in the middle overs. Bumrah’s death-bowling prowess adds a modern edge, while England’s Anderson and Gough provide swing and experience to the attack.
Mitchell Marsh’s all-time Australia-India-England combined ODI XI:
David Warner, Adam Gilchrist, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Michael Bevan, Andrew Symonds, Anil Kumble, Darren Gough, Jasprit Bumrah, James Anderson
