Watch: Mitchell Starc fulfills his promise, gifts pair of shoes to young fan after win vs PAK in 2nd test

Mitchell Starc picked 4 wickets in the second innings of AUS vs PAK 2nd test.
Australia pacer Mitchell Starc fulfilled his promise to a young fan and gifted his shoes to him after he helped his side defeat Pakistan by 79 runs in the second test of the three-match series. This match was played in Melbourne.
Australia established an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match test series on Friday, 29 December, when they defeated Men In Green, captained by Shan Masood, by 79 runs in the Boxing Day test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Pat Cummins took a 10-wicket haul, his second in test cricket, to help his side cross the finish line.
While Cummins got 10 wickets, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood each took four wickets in their series victory. This test loss means Pakistan are still searching for a win in Australia in tests since 1995-96 and lost another test series down under.
The third and final test of the three-match series will be contested at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney from January 3-7, 2024. The final test at the SCG will also be the last for Australian opener David Warner, who will retire from the longest format.
Mitchell Starc gifts his shoes to a young fan to fulfill his promise
Following Australia’s triumph over Pakistan in the 2nd test in Melbourne on Friday, Australia’s great pacer Mitchell Starc made a little fan’s day by handing him his cricketing shoes.
Notably, during the lunch break, Starc promised a fan that if the team succeeded in taking all the wickets by the end of the day, he would give him his shoes. Fortunately for the fan, the hosts were successful.
Cricket Australia (CA) published a video on X, formerly Twitter, depicting Starc handing away his shoes to a child following the Boxing Day test.
