Mitchell Starc achieved the feat during his career’s 100th test match.

Ace pacer Mitchell Starc has become the third-highest wicket-taker for Australia in international cricket. Starc has overtaken former pacer Brett Lee in the list of most wickets for Australia across all three formats. The left-arm pacer achieved the feat in the ongoing third test against the West Indies.

Former Australia legend Brett Lee picked 718 wickets across 322 international games. He clinched 310 wickets in 76 tests, 380 scalps in 221 ODIs, and 28 wickets in 25 T20Is. Starc now has 719 wickets in his kitty in 292 matches.

Starc has so far captured 396 wickets in 100 tests, 244 scalps in 127 ODIs, and 79 wickets in 65 T20Is. He is a regular pacer for Australia across all three formats. Moreover, Starc has also shown a decent form in the ongoing test series against West Indies. He so far has clinched nine wickets across three games.

Shane Warne tops the list for Australian bowlers with most international wickets

Shane Warne is the top wicket-taker for Australia with 999 wickets. He is also the second-highest wicket-taker in international cricket. Glenn McGrath occupies the second spot with 948 scalps. Spinner Nathan Lyon is the fifth-highest wicket-taker for Australia with 592 wickets.

Meanwhile, the third test between Australia and the West Indies is underway at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica. On day one, Australia got all out for 225 in the first innings with none of their batters hitting a fifty.

Later, the West Indies finished with 16/1 at the stumps on day one. Australia lead the three-match series 2-0. Earlier, Australia won the first test by 159 runs and the second test by 133 runs.
