Mohammad Amir makes yet another bold statement, predicting India’s future in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir is back in the news with his prediction about India’s performance in the T20 World Cup 2026. Just a few days ago, Amir called Abhishek Sharma a “slogger”, and now he has predicted about the entire Indian team.
In the program ‘Haarna Mana Hai’, the anchor asked Amir about his prediction for the semi-finals of Group 1 of Super 8. Amir has made a big and bold prediction about Team India’s performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
‘India Won’t Make It To Semi-Finals’: Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir stated that Team India won’t make it to the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Amir claimed that India will fail in their title defence of the T20 World Cup and the likes of South Africa and the West Indies will make it past the Men In Blue.
“South Africa and the West Indies,” said Amir when asked who was predicted to qualify to the semi-finals from Group 1 of the Super 8.
The former pacer went a step further and also explained why he thinks India will fail to qualify for the semi-finals. Mohammad Amir said that India will fall short under pressure, having already faced batting collapses in the Group stage.
“If you see their matches, the batting collapsed in all the games, barring the Pakistan contest. The pressure will rise in the Super 8 matches. The way in which South Africa and the West Indies have been playing, they can beat any team,” Amir said while explaining his prediction.
India are placed in Group 1 of the Super 8 along with South Africa, West Indies, and Zimbabwe. Group 2 comprises Pakistan, England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. India will face South Africa in their opening match of the Super 8 on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
They will then play Zimbabwe on February 26 at Chepauk and will conclude their Super 8 campaign against the West Indies on March 1 at the Eden Gardens.
India have beaten the USA, Namibia, Pakistan, and the Netherlands in the Group stage. The Men in Blue are looking to become the first team to defend their T20 World Cup title and also the first to win the most titles. They are currently tied with England and the West Indies with two titles each.
