Mohammad Rizwan closes in the gap with Suryakumar Yadav in ICC T20I batsmen rankings

India batsman Suryakumar Yadav is still leading the ICC T20I batsmen rankings.

Pakistani wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan has been awarded for his excellent finish against New Zealand in the T20 series. Rizwan scored an unbeaten 98 against New Zealand in the final T20 game in Rawalpindi. Rizwan has come closer to the number one spot in the ICC T20I batsmen ranking. Suryakumar Yadav is the number one batter in the T20I ranking for batsmen with 906 rating points. Rizwan with his two fifties against New Zealand in 5 innings, now has 811 rating points. Rizwan has covered the gap and SKY’s lead is now under 100.

Pakistani captain Babar Azam is third in the points table and has lost 13 rating points after he failed in the final game. Babar managed to score only 19 runs in the final game. Two South Africans, Aiden Markram and Rilee Rossouw are 4th and 5th respectively in the T20I rankings. After Glenn Phillips's absence from the Pakistan tour, he has now gone down two places to joint 15th with Pathum Nissanka. Phillips's absence was beneficial for Virat Kohli. Kohli has now moved up one place to 14th place with 612 rating points.

Apart from Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav, no other Indian batter is among the Top 20. Kiwi All-rounder Mark Chapman has made a big move in the ranking with his century in the last T20I inning. Chapman’s century (104) proved a match-winning knock for New Zealand. Chapman is now in 35th place in the ranking from 57th. He has made a jump of 22 places in the ranking. Two Afghani bowlers are at the top in the T20 bowling ranking. Rashid Khan is number one and Fazalhaq Farooqi is second in the ICC T20I ranking for bowlers.
