Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh faced a backlash over one of his pictures. Australian skipper Pat Cummins posted a photo on his Instagram account while they celebrated their 6th World Cup win. While few came in support of Mitchell Marsh as well citing the cultural difference between the South Asian fans and others. Now, Indian speedster Mohammed Shami has also slammed Australian all-rounder Marsh. Mohammed Shami says ‘I am hurt’

Mohammed Shami slammed Mitchell Marsh and said that he was hurt. Shami said, “I am hurt. The trophy for which all the teams in the world fight, the trophy which you want to lift over your head, keeping a foot on  that trophy did not make me happy.” Australian all-rounder Marsh also had a great run in the recently concluded World Cup and smashed two big centuries. He scored an unbeaten 177 runs against Bangladesh to chase down 307 runs in Pune.

Mohammed Shami also revealed that assessing the pitch before the game starts is always out of the question. Shami revealed that he never looked at the pitch before bowling his first delivery in the game. He added, “Generally, bowlers check the pitch after arriving at the ground. I never go close to the wicket because you will know how it behaves only when you bowl on it. Then why take the pressure? It’s best to keep it simple, keep yourself relaxed.”

Mohammed Shami finished the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as the leading wicket-taker in the tally and picked up 24 wickets in 7 games. Shami claimed 3 five-wicket hauls in the tournament. He also picked 7 wickets against New Zealand and became the first ever Indian bowler to pick up 7 wickets in an ODI. Shami was brought in in the playing XI when all-rounder Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
