Mohammed Siraj had an outburst at Marnus Labuschagne on day 1 of the Adelaide test.

India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was left furious with Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne as the batsmen withdrew from his stance before the seamer was about to deliver the ball during day 1 of the Adelaide test.

The second Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 test got underway on Friday in Adelaide, a day-night encounter being played with the pink ball.

After electing to bat first, India were bowled out for 180 runs in their first innings in 44.1 as Mitchell Starc ripped through the top order and recorded his career’s best bowling figures of 6/48.

Then, during Australia’s first innings, Siraj had an outburst at Labuschagne during the 25th over of the innings.

Siraj ran in to bowl the fifth ball of the over and as he was about to load his action, Marnus pulled out of his stance and moved away from the stumps. The batsman gestured towards the sightscreen, but Siraj was furious by that time. In order to express his frustration, the Indian pacer threw the ball fiercely at the striker’s end, though away from Labuschagne.

It was soon revealed that Labuschagne was distracted by a man carrying a beer snake and walking behind the sight screen.
