Mohammed Siraj picked up two wickets in the second innings of the Lord’s test.
India pacer Mohammed Siraj has been penalised by the ICC for breaching their Code of Conduct in the ongoing third test of the five-match series against England. This match is being played at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, and the incident occurred on day four of the game.
Tempers rose on the third evening of the ongoing third test at Lord’s when the Indians were irritated by Ben Duckett’s opening partner Zak Crawley’s attempts at what they perceived as time-wasting.
Duckett collapsed, drawing Siraj to midfield on the fifth over of the fourth morning, and Siraj’s celebrations included a few roars, gazing and shouting in Duckett’s direction, and a brush of bodies as they moved closer together.
ICC statement spelt it out, saying, “After the dismissal, Siraj celebrated close to the batter in his follow-through and made contact as Duckett began his walk back to the Lord’s long room“.
Mohammed Siraj was fined 15% of his match fees and gets a demerit point

Thanks to the send-off Siraj gave to Ben Duckett, he has 15 percent of his match fee after a breach in the ICC Code of Conduct.
Siraj was guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”
In addition to the fine, one demerit point has been added to Siraj’s disciplinary record, making it his second offence in 24 months, bringing his total to two.
When a player accumulates four or more demerit points during 24 months, they are turned into suspension points, and the player is suspended.
Siraj and Bumrah took two wickets each, while Washington Sundar took 4/22, as England was bowled out for 192 runs in the second innings on day four. India, chasing 193 runs to win, lost four wickets themselves and ended day four on 58/4.
India need just 135 runs more to win, but they are at 58/4, up against an imposing bowling attack, a difficult day five Lord’s surface, and a boisterous London crowd ready to push their side.
