Mohammed Siraj was the leading wicket-taker in the ENG vs IND test series.

Indian Cricket Team fast bowler Mohammed Siraj opened up about the heartbreaking defeat against the England Cricket Team in the Lord’s test of the series. He said that it is still shocking for him to see how he got out in that match.

The England vs India series was arguably one of the best test series between the two nations. Almost every game went into day five and saw players of the teams giving their best with the bat and ball throughout all five games.

One of the best games of the series was at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, which was the third match of the series. The game went down to the wire with Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja giving their best with the bat and they almost pulled off the 193-chase.

Ravindra Jadeja, with the utmost patience, was taking India towards the win. Despite the failure of the top and middle-order, he along with the tailenders raised the hope of Indian fans. Along with Mohammed Siraj, his 10th wicket partnership, took the game past tea.

Mohammed Siraj was focused as well and was playing well before he bagged an unfortunate dismissal. The pacer defended Shoaib Bashir’s delivery from the middle of the bat but to his unfortunate, the ball rolled onto the stumps, leaving India all out for 170 as they lost the game by just 22 runs.

Terming the incident still shocking, Mohammed Siraj said that the moment keeps popping up on Insta reels. He said that he still gets emotional when he sees that as they had almost won the game. Speaking to the Indian Express, he said:

“It is still shocking to me. I don’t know how it happened. If you see carefully, while the ball is travelling towards the stumps, a small pebble comes in the way and the ball bounces up off it, reaches the stumps to just about hit and a bail drops.

“That moment keeps popping up on Insta reels. When I see those reels, I get emotional. We had almost lost that match, but we were back in the Test. I was feeling so comfortable, there was no way I felt I could get out.”

Mohammed Siraj was the star with the ball for India in the series. He was the leading wicket-taker of the series with 23 wickets.
