Mohammed Siraj became No. 1 ranked ODI bowler last month after the Asia Cup 2023 final.

India pacer Mohammed Siraj will enter the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as the No.1 ranked ODI bowler, which was confirmed by the latest update of ICC ODI players rankings on October 4, 2023.

Siraj is tied for the top spot with Australia right-armer Josh Hazlewood in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings after the latest update on the eve of the showpiece event of the format. After Siraj lost 11 points during the third ODI of the most recent series between Australia and India, the two fast bowlers are tied with Hazlewood on 669 ranking points.

Siraj had missed out on the first two ODIs of the three-match series due to illness. However, despite returning for the third ODI, Siraj paid the price in the rankings for leaking 68 runs from nine overs.

On the other hand, Hazlewood remained steady on 669 ranking points after taking 2/42 in eight overs against India in the same ODI.

When India and Australia play each other in their World Cup opener on October 8, the pacers will have the chance to stake out the top spot in the rankings.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman (third place with 657 ranking points) and Rashid Khan (fourth, 655) are next best in the ODI bowling rankings. Shaheen Afridi (632) climbed up two spots to sixth place and swapped spots with Mitchell Starc, who dropped down to 8th ranking.

Mohammad Nabi (621) entered the top 10 of the ODI bowling rankings, swapping places with India’s Kuldeep Yadav.

David Warner gains big points in ICC ODI batting rankings

Following three consecutive fifty-plus scores in India, Australian veteran David Warner is the significant mover inside the top 10 of the ICC Men's ODI Batting Rankings in the most recent edition. Warner has improved two spots to tie for fourth with Harry Tector of Ireland on 729 ranking points thanks to his strong play, which included 56 runs off 34 balls in the third ODI.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam (857 ranking points) is still no.1, followed by Shubman Gill (839) and Rassie van der Dussen (743). Imam Ul Haq dropped one place to fifth.

Shakib Al Hasan remains the no.1 ranked ODI all-rounder. But he has a threat from Glenn Maxwell, who recently picked four wickets against India in the Rajkot ODI. He has climbed 10 places to 11th in the all-rounder rankings.
