Mohammed Siraj sent back RR opener Jos Buttler for a 2-ball duck.

Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 189 runs on the board against Rajasthan Royals at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Chasing 190, the Royals had a poor start to the inning. RCB’s leader in the pace attack, Mohammed Siraj with his pace and swing got the big wicket of Jos Buttler in the first over. Buttler has been batting nicely in the IPL 2023 so far but against RCB he could not do much and became the victim of Siraj. Siraj has been having a great time in the last few games as a bowler.

Siraj puts pressure on Royals batting

Rajasthan Royals' opener Jos Buttler in the 4th ball of the first over tried to take on Siraj and drive him away from his body. He missed Siraj’s wobble seam delivery which swung back in through the gap Buttler had between bat and pad and then went straight to the middle stump. Siraj’s pace uprooted Jos Buttler’s middle stump on a duck. Siraj had picked up 4 wickets against Punjab Kings in RCB's last outing. Siraj needs one more wicket to get his hands back on the Purple Cap.

After Jos Buttler’s wicket, Rajasthan Royals will remain cautious in their chase. Devdutt Padikkal after a few failures at the beginning of the season had made a decent comeback. Captain Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer will also have an important role in their hand while chasing 190. The Royals have dropped Riyan Parag for this game. Opener Yashaswi Jaiswal is also in good form with the bat. Buttler’s wicket will put pressure on the Royal batting lineup.

In a battle Royal, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a poor start of the inning as well. They lost two wickets in the first three overs. After the early blows, Captain Faf (62) and Glenn Maxwell (77) built a strong partnership that helped them score close to 200. Once looking to go over 230, RCB had to be satisfied with 189 runs. Middle and lower Order could not capitalise on the momentum Faf and Maxwell had provided.
