Test cricket arguably is one of the toughest formats in the game of cricket. Not many can survive in the format as it requires a lot of grit, determination and skills to succeed in the format. 

Over the years, we have seen, various stalwarts of the game have graced the format and have aced the challenge with utmost brilliance. However, on the other hand, some of the big names weren’t able to crack the format, which in itself reveals what it requires to succeed at this level. 

Playing longest format of the game means that a player, especially a batter, needs to give their best. A small error can cost him his wicket as playing with red-ball is very different to playing with white ball, which doesn’t move much and trouble the batters.

This is because the conditions might be very challenging, and field placements might also not allow the batters to do that. Over the years, we have seen several batters bagging ducks on numerous occasions as pressure got better off them.

Rahul Dravid holds the record of playing most test innings without getting out on a golden duck. He played 286 innings without getting out on the first ball. He is followed by David Gower of England and Javid Miandad of Pakistan. Mark Taylor, Viv Richards and Clive Lloyd are also in the list.
