Indian stand-in captain KL Rahul has felicitated Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) for their go-green initiative. MPCA installed 376 solar panels to take a step towards a green India. Also awarded many times for its cleanliness, Indore is hosting the second ODI between India and Australia in the ongoing 3-match ODI series. India are 1-0 ahead, and victory in Indore will give them the series win against Australia.

This initiative by Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) will reduce 277 metric tonnes of carbon emissions every year. Captain KL Rahul did the inauguration just before the toss and appreciated the efforts made by MPCA in the Green India initiative. MPCA dignitaries were also present during the inauguration event, along with KL Rahul. Indore became the second centre, along with M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, with solar panels installed.

The wicket at Holkar Stadium was not a surprise for anyone. Apart from the first wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad, batters have dominated the game. Shreyas Iyer (105) and Shubman Gill (104) played magnificent knocks to provide momentum for India and aim for a big score. Iyer and Gill added 200 runs for the second wicket and took advantage of short boundaries.

Indian captain KL Rahul has also scored a half-century and taken India close to a big total. Suryakumar Yadav also had a great day, as he smashed four consecutive sixes of all-rounder Cameron Green in just one over. India’s highest total ever in ODIs came at this venue in 2011, when Virender Sehwag became the second batter to score a double century in this format. India posted 418 runs against West Indies.
