MS Dhoni in elation shouted 'Yess' after Maheesh Theekshana clean bowled Jason Roy.

One of the calmest and most composed personalities on the field of cricket, MS Dhoni got a bit animated after Maheesh Theekshana sent packing Jason Roy who was bashing the ball all around the park. CSK's skipper shouted 'Yess' after Theekshana's yorker got the better of Jason Roy. The incident took place in the 15th over. Dhoni's celebration was an indication of how crucial that wicket was at the juncture of the game.

Roy, who was looking ominous for CSK, Dhoni threw the ball to the mystery spinner, Theekshana, and take things in control. Theekshana did what the doctor ordered. After getting hit for two straight boundaries, Theekshana looped the ball and was right in the block hole. Roy trying to sweep it failed to make any connection with the ball and in the process, perished.

Maheesh Theekshana who had previously bowled two overs in the game up until that moment was given another go by Dhoni. He was brought into the attack to take Roy out of the equation and to the expectations of his skipper, Theekshana exactly did what was asked out of him. The dangerous-looking Roy was going bonkers as he was looking in sublime touch. Coming lower down the order this time due to a bad back, Jason Roy was up and going from ball one. His knock of 61 runs off just 26 balls five sixes and as many fours.

CSK perch at the top of the Points Table with three consecutive wins

Chennai Super Kings' victory against Kolkata Knight Riders means that CSK have made a hat trick of wins and are now resting at the top of the Points Table. Dhoni's men are in form and are roaring at the moment. After an under-par season in IPL 2022, CSK have made its mark this season and is looking like a team to beat this season.

Asked to bat first, courtesy of Conway, Rahane, and Dube's brilliant innings, CSK managed to pile the highest total of IPL 2023 - 235 runs. The bowlers too did their job to defend the total comfortably. Every bowler who got a chance to swing his arms accounted for a wicket with Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana plucking two wickets each and the rest getting a solitary wicket each. In the end, CSK won by 49 runs.
