MS Dhoni has travelled with CSK to Hyderabad for clash against SRH.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend MS Dhoni has travelled with the squad to Hyderabad for their next Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match. The team will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday in the 27th match of the league. CSK are coming into this game with good momentum after two back-to-back wins at home. They will now aim to continue their winning run in an away match.
CSK have shown steady form this season. Their bowling unit has done well in key moments. The batters have also stepped up when needed. On the other hand, SRH have won two out of their five matches so far and will look to put up a good show at home.
Dhoni, who is 44 years old, has been out of action due to a calf strain since the start of the season. In his IPL career, he has played 278 matches and scored 5,439 runs. He averages 38.30 and has a strike rate of over 137. He has also smashed 24 fifties, making him one of the most successful players in the league.
MS Dhoni to make comeback against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026
CSK shared a video on social media showing MS Dhoni boarding the team bus for Hyderabad. His presence has boosted the team environment. Even though he has not been playing, he continues to guide the players and support the team from the sidelines.
According to a report by Rev Sports, Dhoni may not feature in the upcoming match against SRH. The team management is likely to take a careful approach with his return. He could be available for the next home game against Gujarat Titans (GT), which will be played on April 26.
Before this, Dhoni had missed multiple matches due to his injury. He did not travel with the team for earlier away games. He also missed match day appearances at home. However, he has slowly started training again. Reports suggest that he has been doing light practice sessions in the nets.
During these sessions, Dhoni has mainly faced throwdowns. He has not yet batted at full intensity. He also has not done wicketkeeping drills so far. This shows that he is still working towards full fitness.
