In a tribute to former Indian captain MS Dhoni's contribution to Indian cricket, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) honored him on Friday, April 7, for his historic six that led India to victory in the 2011 Cricket World Cup final, ending a 28-year drought. He was honored by the Mumbai Cricket Association just five days after India celebrated the 12th anniversary of their historic win. Additionally, the MCA has revealed plans to construct a "Victory Memorial" at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where Dhoni's game-winning six landed.

For the first time, India is going to host the entire Cricket World Cup in 2023. On April 2, 2023, the International Cricket Council (ICC) disclosed the tournament's logo, on the anniversary of India's famous triumph over Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final led by the legendary MS Dhoni.
