MS Dhoni gifts autographed CSK jersey to KKR and Afghanistan wicket-keeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Rahmanullah Gurbaz played 11 games for KKR and scored 227 runs in the IPL 2023.

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni will outnumber every single player in popularity and fanbase. Dhoni’s popularity is not limited to just India but Worldwide. Dhoni is seen as a role model among the younger generation as well. Afghanistan’s wicket-keeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the latest to get appreciation from IPL 2023 winning captain MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni has sent Afghanistan wicket-keeper batter a Chennai Super Kings iconic number 7 jersey. Rahmanullah Gurbaz played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2023. Gurbaz didn’t had a decent outing in the IPL 2023 as he played 11 games this season and scored 227 runs for Kolkata as Opener. 

Gurbaz thanks MS Dhoni

After getting MS Dhoni’s CSK jersey, Gurbaz posted a picture on Instagram posing with the Chennai Super Kings number 7 jersey. Gurbaz also thanked MS Dhoni for the gift and posted, “Thanks MS Dhoni sir for sending me the gift all the way from India”.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz was part of the Gujarat Titans and was traded by the Titans after the IPL 2022 season. Rahmanullah Gurbaz is known for his blistering knocks in limited-overs cricket. He is considered the next big thing in Afghanistan cricket after their factory line of wrist spinners. Gurbaz didn’t do well against Sri Lanka in the recently concluded 3-match ODI series and discord just 24 runs in 3 innings. 

The IPL 2023 saw a huge following of CSK skipper MS Dhoni in almost every game Dhoni played for Chennai. Be it CSK’s home Chepauk or an away venue, fans gathered to cheer MS Dhoni. Under Dhoni's captaincy, India won three ICC titles in his 8 years long career as team India’s in-charge. Former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar also took his autograph in his shirt after one of the playoff games in the IPL 2023. Dhoni will take part in the IPL 2024 as a player for Chennai Super Kings.
