Sakshi Dhoni has provided an update about MS Dhoni's knee injury, which he picked up before the Indian Premier League 2023.
MS Dhoni picked up an injury during the practice session before the start of the Indian Premier League 2023. Despite the injury, he continued to lead Chennai Super Kings throughout the season and also kept wickets in all the matches.
During the season, his knee was often seen with bandages, which made one wonder about his condition. While Dhoni never really addressed anything regarding his knee injury, it was all out there. After winning the IPL, Dhoni underwent surgery in Mumbai for the knee.
Recently, he was seen promoting his first-ever movie from the production house. MS Dhoni Entertainment has produced a Tamil movie which has hit the theatres this week.
Dhoni did make a couple of appearances to promote the film but recently, it has been only Sakshi Dhoni, who has been attending the promotions.
During one of the recent public appearances by Sakshi, she was asked about his condition. "He is recovering, he is in rehab", says Sakshi, who was in Chennai to attend he premier of her production. A video of the same is doing rounds on Social Media.
A few weeks ago, another video of Dhoni, went viral on social media. In the video, Dhoni was apparently seen returning from the training session in Ranchi.
Dhoni will return for IPL 2024
Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2019, continues to play for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
In 2023, he led the lead to the trophy to become only the second captain to win the trophy five times. After equalling the record, everyone thought that Dhoni would retire as he would be leaving as champions, the best way to bow out. However, Dhoni had other plans. The former World Cup-winning captain said that he wants to push his body to play for one more season for the fans.
While he is still in rehab from the injury, it will be interesting to see how quickly he can recover to get fit before the IPL 2024.
