Muhammad Waseem scored a half-century in the clash against Oman in Asia Cup 2025.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman are locking horns in seventh match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 on Monday, September 15. Home skipper Muhammad Waseem slammed a marvellous half-century, scoring 69 runs off 54 deliveries.
With his knock, Waseem became the fastest batsman to score 3000 runs in T20I cricket in terms of balls. The UAE captain reached the milestone in 1947 deliveries and surpassed batting legends like Jos Buttler, Rohit Sharma, Aaron Finch, and David Warner for the record.
Moreover, the right-handed batsman has reached the mark of 3000 runs in 84 innings, making him the fourth fastest batter to reach the milestone, in terms of innings taken. Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, and Virat Kohli are the only three batters to reach the mark in fewer innings.

Waseem has scored 3010 runs in 84 games at an average of 38.10 in T20I cricket. At a strike rate of 154.12, the 31-year-old has slammed three centuries and 24 half-centuries.
Talking about the match, Oman won the toss and opted to bowl first against the UAE. With half-centuries by openers Waseem (61) and Alishan Sharafu (51), UAE piled up 172/5 in the first innings. The duo piled up a superb partnership of 88 runs to set the platform for the team.
Oman bowlers looked completely helpless against the UAE batters. Jiten Ramanandi picked up two wickets while Hassnain Shah and Samay Shrivastava got one scalp each.
UAE and Oman are placed in group A in Asia Cup 2025. UAE lost their opening game to India by nine wickets, while Oman faced a defeat against Pakistan in their first match by 93 runs.
