Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman hospitalized after being hit by ball on head

Mustafizur Rahman got hit by a ball on head during practice session of the ongoing BPL 2024.

An unfortunate incident happened in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2024), when the Bangladesh premium pacer Mustafizur Rahman suffered an injury after being stuck by a ball on the head during a net session of the Comilla Victorians at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on February 18, Sunday.

The incident happened when Raham was struck by Comilla Victorians skipper Litton Das, who was practicing nearby.

After being stuck by the ball, Mustafizur had blood spilling from his head and was instantly treated with ice on the ground before being rushed to a nearby hospital in the port city.

No internal head injury

According to the team physio Zahidul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman had an open wound and the physios worked with compression bandage to stop bleeding and took him to hospital.

“There was an open wound at his parietal area and we have worked with compression bandage to stop bleeding and immediately had shifted him to Imperial hospital.” Zahidul told ESPNCricinfo.

Further, team physio Zahidul Islam also informed that the pacer just got stitches on his head and CT scans revealed no internal injuries on his head.

“After CT scan we are satisfied that he had only external injury. There is no intracranial bleeding. Now surgical team has given him stitches on the open wound.” concluded Zahidul.

Comilla Victorians will play their next BPL 2024 encounter against Sylhet Strikers in the afternoon game on February 19, Monday.
