IPL 2025: Mustafizur Rahman replaces Jake Fraser-McGurk in DC squad for remainder of the tournament

Mustafizur Rahman has been picked for INR 6 crore.
Delhi Capitals (DC) have replaced Jake-Fraser McGurk with Mustafizur Rahman for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. McGurk opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons. The IPL 2025 will resume on May 17 and witness the remaining 17 games.
Notably, Fraser returned to Australia after IPL 2025 was suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on May 9. The Capitals picked the Australian batter for INR 9 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction. The right-handed batsman has played six games for DC in the tournament.
Fraser completely failed to make a mark with his batting. He piled up just 55 runs in six innings with a top knock of 38 runs. Capitals, led by Axar Patel, occupy the fifth spot in the points table with 13 points. They have a narrow chance to qualify for the playoffs.
Mustafizur Rahman joins Delhi Capitals for INR 6 crore
The Capitals have inducted Bangladesh pacer Rahman to replace Fraser. Rahman will join the DC for INR 6 crore. The left-arm seamer has decent experience of 57 games in the IPL. He has taken 61 wickets at an average of 28.29. He was part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) last season. Notably, he represented DC in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Meanwhile, the Axar Patel and Co. will play three more games in the league stage of IPL 2025. The IPL 2020 runners-up will face Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 18, Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 21, and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 24.
They have played 11 games so far, winning six matches and losing four. One of their matches was washed out due to rain and ended with no result. The Capitals have a good chance to qualify for the playoffs if they win all of their next three games. However, they will also need the results of other teams in their favour.
