The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Sunday, January 26, 2025 announced the winner of the ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year 2024. Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus received the award for his outstanding performances, leading his team to remarkable victories against UAE and Oman in the last year.
2024 was a special year for Associate nations, with many of them getting the chance to compete in the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024, which featured 20 teams.
Despite finishing fourth in Group B, which included Australia, England, Scotland, and Oman, Namibia had a remarkable T20 World Cup campaign. They secured a memorable win against Oman and came close to defeating Scotland, losing by just five wickets.

He added, “I would like to score a few more runs for Namibia. The main goal for the team is to rack up points in the division. Hopefully, we can end up with six or eight wins this year.“
Namibia will hope their captain continues his strong form ahead of their crucial upcoming matches against the United States and Oman in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2.
