Reports suggested that Asia Cup 2025 trophy is in custody of Mohsin Naqvi in some place in Abu Dhabi.

The Asia Cup 2025 trophy row has met a surprising turn and continues to be a dilemma for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). According to the latest reports in ANI, the trophy has been relocated from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) office in Dubai to a different location in Abu Dhabi.

The issue over Asia Cup trophy began after Indian Cricket Team won the final of the tournament. Following their win over Pakistan in the summit clash, the Suryakumar Yadav & Co. denied to receive the silverware from ACC President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also happens to be an interior minister in the Pakistan Government.

As a result, an ACC official took the trophy from the ground without any explanation on instructions of Naqvi, and it was not handed over to India. Later, the Men in Blue celebrated their victory on the podium without the trophy.

The Indian Cricket Team returned home without the trophy and medals. When BCCI raised the matter with the ACC and demanded Naqvi to return the trophy, the latter asked them to collect the silverware from the ACC office in Dubai.

A report from ANI revealed that when a BCCI official recently visited ACC office in Dubai to enquire about the trophy, he was informed that it had been transferred to a different location in Abu Dhabi and is under Naqvi’s custody.

“A BCCI official visited ACC headquarters a few days back. When he inquired about the trophy in the ACC office, the staff told him that it has been removed from here and is in the custody of Moshin Naqvi in some place in Abu Dhabi,” sources informed ANI.

Notably, an ACC meeting took place after Asia Cup 2025 final over the trophy row. After the meeting, various reports claimed that Naqvi apologised to BCCI over the chaos. However, the PCB chairman categorically denied the reports.

At the start of this month, Naqvi set the condition that if India wants the trophy, they should visit Dubai and collect it from ACC office. According to Geo News, he recently proposed hosting a ceremony to present the Asia Cup 2025 trophy to India. BCCI is also looking forward to raising the matter with the International Cricket Council (ICC) during an official meeting in December.
