"Iconic days are back," Twitter reacts to news of Navjot Singh Sidhu's return to commentary box in IPL 2024

Nearly after a decade, Navjot Singh Sidhu will be seen doing commentary in the IPL in 2024 season.

Former Indian cricketer-turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu is all set to make a big comeback to the commentary box in upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).

The official broadcasters of IPL 2024, Star Sports, on Tuesday, March 19 announced that the ace commentator would be available for the entire 17th edition of the tournament, which will begin from March 22.

“A wise man once said, ‘Hope is the biggest ‘tope’. And this wise man, the great @sherryontopp himself, has joined our Incredible StarCast! Don’t miss his incredible commentary (and gajab one-liners) in #IPLOnStar – STARTS MAR 22, 6:30 PM onwards, LIVE on Star Sports Network!,” the official handle of Star Sports wrote in their latest post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle.

Following the announcement, fans gave mixed reactions to welcome Sidhu to the commentary box again. Sidhu was away from commentary for last few years due to his political engagement.

Navjot Singh Sidhu is widely regarded as one of the greatest Indian Hindi commentators, and many cricket lovers grew up watching him in the commentary box in the early 2000s.

When the toughest cricket league made its debut season in 2008, Sidhu was part of the Hindi broadcast and he was famous for his one-liners and ‘shayaris,’ which were a big hit among many cricket enthusiasts till now.
